The newly created Liability Driven Investing (LDI) portfolios, LDI Connect 3 and LDI Connect 7, aims at "designing portfolio management strategies and activities to ensure that client specific portfolio liabilities are met as and when they fall due", rather than using traditional risk tolerance questionnaires.
MGD is the fifth customised portfolio service customer of Select since the launch of its services two years ago.
Andrew Fairweather, CEO of Select, said, "MGD Wealth has a unique planning approach that fits neatly within our investment philosophy and process, and we are looking forward to helping them build multi-manager, multi-asset class portfolios that better match their client cash flow requirements with a seamless administration, portfolio construction and client value proposition."
Commenting on the two newly created LDI portfolios, Stephen Furness, head of investment at MGD Wealth said that the LDI Connect 3 and 7 portfolios had evolved to match the firm’s investing process with an integrated portfolio administration service.
"[T]he back office synergies that we will gain from having a fully integrated portfolio service will be substantial, as will the actual client experience with more regular and robust communication about the performance of the investment strategy ‘buckets’ that we use to manage our clients’ wealth," he added.
