Financial technology company iCapital Network has appointed Anastasia Amoroso as the firm’s chief investment strategist.

Amoroso will be responsible for presenting iCapital’s perspective on the evolving dynamics of the global investing marketplace and analysing public and private market investing opportunities.

She will also offer insights related to various alternative investment strategies, and issue near- and longer-term outlooks particularly for hedge funds and private equity.

Amoroso will report to iCapital managing partner and head of fund Management and research, Eileen Duff.

In addition, she will work closely with iCapital chairman and CEO Lawrence Calcano and the entire senior team. She will be based out of iCapital’s New York headquarters.

Calcano said that Amoroso’s addition to the team further reinforces the firm’s expertise in alternative investments and its commitment to the ongoing education of advisors and their clients.

Amoroso worked at JP Morgan for the last eight years. She was most recently as head of Thematic Strategy in the firm’s private banking arm.

In her role, she was responsible for setting investment strategy and developing tactical global macro recommendations and thematic investment ideas for family offices and institutional wealth management clients.

Prior to JP Morgan, Amoroso worked at Merrill Lynch for seven years. She began her career as a research assistant at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Amoroso said: “iCapital has a richly deserved reputation for transforming every aspect of the global alternatives investing space over the past few years. I’m thrilled to be joining the team at this exciting time in the company’s history.”

Last week, iCapital Network announced plans to hire 200 new employees over the next two years for its office in Greenwich, Connecticut.

In January this year, the firm agreed to purchase the assets of alternative investment education and compliance platform AI Insight.
