Hedge fund firm Lansdowne Partners has appointed Alex Snow as its new chief executive, effective 2 September 2013.

Snow will replace Lansdowne co-founder Paul Ruddock and will become a partner of the firm and will also join the company’s management committee.

Prior to joining the firm, Snow worked as executive chairman of Investec’s UK investment banking division and as chief executive of Evolution Group, which he founded in 2001 and was acquired by Investec a decade later.

Snow will work closely with Suzi Nutton, currently Lansdowne’s head of operations, who will be promoted to the role of chief operating officer.
