American investment management firm Vanguard has bolstered its exchange traded fund range by launching four low-cost fixed income ETFs on the London Stock Exchange.
These new ETFs will provide investors exposure to US and European corporate bonds, US treasuries and euro-denominated debt issued by governments based in the eurozone.
The new ETFs – Vanguard USD Corporate Bond UCITS ETF, Vanguard EUR Corporate Bond UCITS ETF, Vanguard EUR Eurozone Government Bond UCITS ETF, Vanguard USD Treasury Bond UCITS ETF – will have an ongoing charge of 0.12% and track Barclays indices.
The new additions bring Vanguard’s low-cost ETF suite to 21 products in the UK.
Vanguard head of investments in Europe Ken Volpert said: "Today’s launch complements Vanguard’s existing range of index mutual funds and ETFs. They will enable investors to build a broadly diversified fixed income and equity portfolio at a low cost."
London Stock Exchange listed products manager Lida Eslami said: "Total on-exchange turnover of fixed income ETFs on our markets was over £88bn (111.2bn) in 2015, up by 84% compared to 2014 – a clear demonstration of the growing appetite for these instruments."
