Barclays Wealth plans to increase its banking
staff in Asia by approximately 50% by the end of 2012.
Currently Barclays Wealth has more than 100
bankers across Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
Head of Barclays Wealth North Asia, Pakorn
Boonyakurkul, said:
“Barclays Wealth has hired and continues to be
on the look out for senior bankers in both Hong Kong and Singapore,
as we ramp up our Asian expansion.”
According to the Barclay’s Wealth website, the
lender will continue to focus on China “as part of its overall key
Asia Pacific markets strategy in 2012.”
On 24 November, Barclays Wealth appointed
Januar Tjandra as head of Greater China. On 30 November Barclays
Wealth hired Carol Chen from UBS as market head for Greater
China.
