Japan-based Nomura Asset Management (NAM) has signed an alliance agreement with Bridge Capital Asset Management (Bridge Capital), a Shanghai-based investment manager specializing in funds investing in hedge funds.

As part of the alliance, NAM will invest up to JPY3 billion in an incubation fund managed by Bridge Capital.

The agreement will also enable NAM to make an equity investment in Bridge Capital.

Additionally, the deal will allow NAM to expand its hedge fund product offering and speed up NAM’s alternative product development process.

NAM now manages assets under management totaling US$358 billion and employs approximately 1,250 staff across its regional offices in New York, London, Frankfurt, Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul and Sydney.
