Lombard International Assurance, an insurance-based wealth structuring solutions provider, has named Luca Bertacchi as the director, head of Switzerland and international markets.

In the newly created position, Bertacchi will be responsible for boosting the company’s Switzerland growth plans and supporting an experts’ team across its Geneva, Lugano and Zurich offices.

He previously held the role of regional director for Central & Southern Europe since January 2016, managing business development in Turkey, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Benelux.

Bertacchi has been a part of Lombard International Assurance since 2011 when he joined the company as a country manager to oversee the Italian market.

Besides, he held senior roles at Pioneer Investments, Energy Group Milano, Fortis Bank, and UniCredit Banca Mobiliare.

Lombard International Assurance CEO Axel Hörger said: “Luca is the ideal appointment to this strategically important role, having successfully grown new business across Europe. Switzerland has built its reputation as the jurisdiction of choice for safeguarding assets.
