EFG International has named Giorgio Pradelli
as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and member of the
executive committee.

Pradelli, who replaces Jean-Christophe
Pernollet, will start on 1 June 2012.

I know the business well, and I am convinced as to its future
potential. It has put past missteps behind it, and the challenge is
now to optimise and to grow,” said Pradelli.

Pradelli, who graduated in Business
Administration and Economics at Turin University, fluently speaks
Italian, English, German and French and has an extensive private
banking and business management experience.

In the last few years Pradelli has been head
of international at Eurobank.

From 2003-06, he was deputy CFO of EFG Group,
the largest shareholder of EFG International.

During this period, he worked closely with EFG
Private Bank in the UK and its then CEO, John Williamson, now CEO
of EFG International.

Previously he worked in Deutsche Bank Group as
head of private & business banking in Italy, and as head of
business development for the private clients and asset management
group in Frankfurt.

 

EFG still recovering

In 2011, EFG International reported a net loss
for the second consecutive year.

According to its annual report released at the
end of February, the Swiss group registered a net loss for the
period of CHF291m ($312m). In 2010, the loss amounted to
CHF768m.

The results followed a CHF860m investment
write-off in June 2010.
