Deutsche Bank has named Dominique Jooris as the head of its wealth solutions unit for Asia-Pacific region.

Under the new role, he will work to support the growth of the German bank’s business in the region.

The move comes as the Asia-Pacific is expected to continue to remain the fastest growing region in the future.

Previously, Jooris served as the CEO of Bank Pictet in Singapore. However, he left the job in January this year following a rejig of the business.

His appointment at Deutsche Bank is effective immediately.

Recently, Deutsche Bank Wealth Management recruited three Credit Suisse executives to fuel its expansion in the Southeast Asian region.

The appointments include 11-years Credit Suisse veteran Urs Brudermann as managing director and Southeast Asia group head of the wealth management arm, Shawn Ngoh as a director and Pichaya Prawanmeet as vice president of the wealth management arm.

In the second quarter of this year, Deutsche Bank has posted a net income of €692m. In the same period a year ago, the lender incurred a net loss of €77m.

The turnaround was backed by significant improvement across all businesses.

In the same quarter, the net revenues at Deutsche Bank’ Investment Bank unit were €2.4bn, while the private banking division posted net revenues of €2bn.

The asset management unit recorded a total net revenue of €626m in the second quarter of 2021.
