Barclays wealth management’s new CEO, Dirk Klee, was announced last week. But who is he? Private Banker International profiles him.

Klee will succeed Dena Brumpton at Barclays Savings, Investments & Wealth Management.

Brumpton joined Barclays in 2015 as CEO of Barclays Wealth & Investments. However, last week it was announced that she will retire from her role.

Klee will take over as CEO for Savings, Investments & Wealth Management in September 2018 – subject to regulatory approval.

Commenting on Dirk’s appointment, Ashok Vaswani, CEO, Barclays UK, said: “Dirk has a strong background in Wealth Management having spent the last five years at UBS in Zurich.

His most recent role as Chief Operating Officer for the Wealth Management arm saw him deliver an industry first Wealth Management IT platform in 2017 (One WMP) and UBS SmartWealth with an award-winning digital banking experience.

According to Klee’s LinkedIn profile, he achieved a Master’s Degree, Master of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1995.
