Top financial advisers by value and volume

According to GlobalData’s ‘Global and Financial Services M&A Report Financial Adviser League Tables Q1 2022’, Morgan Stanley and Ernst & Young have secured the top spots by value and volume, respectively, in the financial services sector in Q1 2022.

Morgan Stanley achieved the top ranking by value by advising on $25.9bn worth of M&A deals, while Ernst & Young led by volume, having advised on a total of 16 deals.

GlobalData lead analyst Aurojyoti Bose said: “Ernst & Young, despite topping the chart by volume, lagged behind its peers in terms of value and did not feature in the top 10 list by value.

“On the other hand, Morgan Stanley, despite advising on a fewer number of deals, managed to top the ranking by value due to its involvement in big-ticket deals. The firm advised on four billion-dollar deals that also included one deal valued more than $10bn.”
