Northern Trust Asset Management, a division of Northern Trust, has named Gary Paulin as chief investment strategist, International, and Joseph Tanious as chief investment strategist, North America.

Paulin and Tanious will collaborate with the firm’s investment teams across equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternatives to shape economic and market perspectives.

They will work with investment leaders to conduct research on new instruments and market developments, including thematics, public/private assets, digital assets, active ETFs, and model portfolios.

Their insights will support Northern Trust’s global institutional, family office, and wealth client groups, according to the company.

Earlier this month, Northern Trust Asset Management named Michael Hunstad and Christian Roth as global co-chief investment officers (co-CIOs), effective 1 June 2025.

Both strategists will communicate the firm’s investment outlook across asset classes and produce analysis and thought leadership for the broader market.
