Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), a division of Northern Trust, has appointed Michael Hunstad and Christian Roth as global co-chief investment officers (co-CIOs).
The duo will assume their new responsibilities on 1 June 2025.
Hunstad and Roth will be responsible for overseeing the investment performance, processes, and philosophies at NTAM.
They will co-chair the investment policy committee and lead the global teams for equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternatives.
Both executives will also be part of the asset management executive group and report directly to NTAM president Daniel Gamba.
The new appointments come in the wake of Angelo Manioudakis’ retirement, who has been with the $1.3tn business since September 2021 and will step down on 31 May 2025.

Gamba said: “Michael and Chris have a proven track record of investment expertise and longtime leadership in the asset management industry.
