Switzerland’s Falcon Private Bank has recruited Xavier Clavel as the new global head of products and investments.

The news comes after a number of changes at the Zurich based bank, which has almost renewed its entire c-suite in the last two years.

Clavel assumed the new role on 18 February 2019, with responsibility for the development of Falcon’s investment solutions, advisory offering, crypto strategy and fund management. He will also join the private bank’s executive committee.

He was previously was the global head of private banking at Banque Cramer & Cie and head of alternative investment group for Switzerland at HSBC Private Bank. His two-decade long financial career also includes a stint at Continental Europe at GAM (Schweiz).

In the new role, Clavel will report to CEO Martin Keller. Who commented on the appointment:  “He will focus on creating added value for our clients particularly by further strengthening our distinctive product & service offering as well as our investment expertise.”

Keller succeeded Walter Berchtold, whose stint at the bank was tainted by money laundering scandals linked to the 1MDB fund in Malaysia.

Last year, the private bank appointed Matteo Maccio as its CFO and Alastair Fiddes as its COO.
