BNY Mellon Investment Management, a unit of Bank of New York Mellon, has made new appointments to strengthen its UK sales team.
The company has hired Nick Thiem as the new head of UK wealth managers and private banks.
Thiem will join BNY Mellon from Coupland Cardiff Asset Management where he led the UK distribution business.
With more than 20 years of experience, Thiem was also associated with Aberdeen Asset Management (now Standard Life Aberdeen), Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Gartmore Investment Management.
In the new role, Thiem will work to provide relevant products to the company clients from BNY Mellon’s boutique asset managers.
Commenting on the appointment of Thiem, BNY Mellon head of UK and Ireland intermediary distribution Fergus McCarthy said: “Nick’s appointment underpins our commitment to the wealth management and private banking segment where we continue to see many opportunities for growth.”
Besides Thiem, the company has appointed Adam Lomas as investment sales manager for the South East and London. He joins the company from Franklin Templeton.
Additionally, BNY Mellon appointed Amy Henderson and Ryan Grey to its strategic partnership team.
Earlier, Amy Henderson and Ryan Grey were associated with Jupiter Asset Management and BNY Mellon UK client services team, respectively.
Last month, BNY Mellon announced its plans to rebrand its US multi-asset investment manager as Mellon. The rebranding will take place on 2 January next year.
