Lombard Odier’s Virtual FinFair (VFF), the world’s first ever online 3D financial fair, is set to be a busy affair with over 700 people confirmed to attend. As a part of Lombard Odier’s E-MERGING social networking site, the virtual doors will be open for twelve hours, writes Patrick Brusnahan.
This Wednesday, visitors will browse the exhibition, with 33 companies setting up stalls for the event. With this online platform, attendants can approach exhibitor’s booths, attend presentations, swap business cards, chat and ‘Skype’ with their peers. Entry is free and due to the online nature of the event, the carbon footprint is zero.
Olivier Collombin, Lombard’s head of the independent asset managers and founder of the E-MERGING platform, said:"FinFair offers an efficient and effective way for people in the industry to meet, share information and do business." He concluded that this event is: "The most efficient way of bringing together our growing global network."
