Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors (VSWA), a unit of Vontobel that offers diversified wealth management services for North American clients, has appointed Patrice Humbel as its new head.

Humbel, who joined VSWA in 2013, will assume the new responsibility on 15 March 2018. He has been working as VSWA’s Geneva office head for the past five years.

Humbel has an experience of over three decades in the wealth management industry, which includes stints at Morgan Stanley and UBS.

Meanwhile, VSWA COO Roger Scherer, who has been running the business on an interim basis, has now been appointed as deputy CEO.

VSWA chairman of the board and Vontobel Wealth Management head Georg Schubiger said: “We are delighted to have been able to appoint from among our own ranks such an experienced wealth management specialist and US expert, with first-hand knowledge of the needs of North American clients, as the new CEO of Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors.

“This underscores the depth of our talent pool. With Patrice E. Humbel at the helm, we want to take the business with North American clients to a new level and systematically continue its expansion. North America is one of Vontobel’s growth markets.”
