Wayne von Borstel has launched von Borstel & Associates as an independent RIA. The firm has been in operations for more than thirty-five years.

It will now offer fee-only services from offices in Portland and The Dalles, Oregon.

It will serve clients staying in any US state by offering them financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, charitable giving, and wealth management services.

von Borstel & Associates believes the fee-only compensation model to be “the most objective of investment advice models”.

The model reduces conflicts and “positions the financial planner as their clients’ fiduciary”, noted the firm.

Commenting on the development, von Borstel noted: “Restructuring von Borstel & Associates as an RIA enables us to align the firm’s structure with what we have believed since the firm started, ‘Always do what is right for our clients’.
