The Ukrainian Cabinet has ratified the double taxation avoidance agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Ireland.

This follows on the signing of the agreement on 19 April 2013 in Kiev during a State visit by Irish Government Minister Brian Hayes.

"After signing the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, government analysts expect a significant increase in mutual investment interest of Ukrainian and Irish businessmen. This process is important in the context of the agreement," the Cabinet’s press office said in a statement.

Ukraine/Ireland double tax agreement (DTA) will become effective on 1 January 2014 following the ratification of the agreement by the Irish authorities, which is scheduled to be passed before the end of 2013.
