A team of UBS advisers, managing $1.5bn in assets, has broken away from the firm to launch an independent wealth management business in Ohio in association with Dynasty Financial.

Dubbed Venture Visionary Partners, the new firm will offer financial planning, wealth management, family office services and corporate services for HNW families and business owners.

Overall, Venture Visionary will be staffed by 11 members.

The team includes ex-UBS adviser Craig Findley, who was dismissed by the firm on the ground of breaching firm policy.

Apart from Findley, the team includes Robert Retzloff as COO.

Venture Visionary also includes John O’Brien as director of retirement plan consulting, and Brian Funkhouser as managing director of investment and retirement plan consulting.

The new firm will leverage Dynasty’s core services platform and turn-key asset management platform.

It also tapped Black Diamond for consolidated asset and performance reporting and Schwab Advisor Services for custodial services.

Findley noted: “We will now be able to evaluate decisions from a different perspective and seek out optimal solutions, regardless of where the solutions reside.

“Leveraging Dynasty’s capabilities will allow us to tap what we believe to be the best resources and capabilities through their open architecture platform.

“We are looking forward to having a true sense of ownership and control as a client focused/ independent firm with the freedom to do as we see fit for our clients.”
