British wealth manager Tilney Group has appointed Andy Brown as its direct equity team leader within its central investment team, kicking off the recruitment drive following its acquisition of local rival Towry.
Based in London, Brown will report to director of investment strategy and research Ben Seager-Scott.
Brown has over three decades of experience as a fund manager and a research analyst, most recently at Sanlam Securities UK.
He previously also worked at Lloyds Investment Managers and Hill Samuel Asset Management.
The appointment of Brown comes as Tilney Bestinvest announced plans to rebrand as Tilney Group. The rebranding follows the completion of its integration with Towry.
The £600m deal with Towry was first announced in last April. Overall, Tilney Group will have over 300 financial planners, investment managers and advisers, who will serve over 100,000 clients from 30 offices across the UK.
“As one of the UK’s largest private client investment management businesses with over 120 investment managers across the UK, high quality research of both funds and single securities is a key component of Tilney’s investment proposition. We are therefore delighted that Andy has joined the growing Tilney team to help us meet this demand,” Seager-Scott said.
