Tilney for Intermediaries, the discretionary management unit of the merged Tilney Bestinvest, has appointed John Alexander as its new business development director.

In this new role, Alexander will be responsible for building relationships with key current and new intermediary clients, mainly in the North West, and developing services in this area.

He will be based in the company’s Liverpool office and will report to Tilney for Intermediaries head Miles Robinson.

Commenting on the appointment, Robinson said: "John is a strong addition to our Liverpool team, and we’re delighted to welcome him on board. He has worked alongside financial advisers for over 15 years and his abilities will help to create exciting new business relationships at an important time in the firm’s development."

Alexander started his career at RBS as a private banking manager, prior to moving into intermediary investment sales at Brewin Dolphin in 2001.

He most recently served at Momentum Global Investment Management, where he held the role of business development manager since 2013.
