Adviser consolidator Succession Group has acquired Independent Women, a UK-based independent financial advice business dedicated to women, for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 1997 by entrepreneur Lesley Mackintosh, Independent Women focuses on offering savings, investment and retirement planning in addition to advice on separation, divorce and bereavement.
Independent Women is a subsidiary of Edinburgh Investment Consultants that was acquired by Succession in 2015.
Succession Group CEO Simon Chamberlain said: “With Succession’s acquisition of Independent Women,
clients have an opportunity to choose the service most appropriate for them. Many women – and indeed men – would prefer their planner to be a woman.
“Succession recognises this requirement and Independent Women has been established to deliver this proposition for our clients.”
