Steward Partners Global Advisory, an independent partnership associated with Raymond James Financial Services, has appointed former Wells Fargo advisers to open its new office in Portland, Maine.

The new location is the firm’s first office in Maine and 17th across the nation.

Ralph Good and James Nylund, who previously managed $200m in assets at Wells Fargo, form the newly created GoodNylund Wealth Management Group within Steward.

At Steward, Good will serve as a managing director while Nylund will become vice president.

Their associate Christine Balfour also moved to Steward.

Meanwhile, Adam Dunbar, who earlier managed $138m in assets at Wells Fargo, joined Steward Partners along with his colleague Jackie Gervais.

Dunbar will assume the role of a senior vice president at Steward.

Steward divisional president Jim Connors said: “When we decided to expand our growing New England presence by opening our first office in Maine, we knew we needed to find the right group of advisers to help us make that happen. James, Ralph and Adam represent just the type of talented, client-focused advisers we were looking for.

“We couldn’t be happier that more and more advisers are beginning to see the benefits of our independent, employee-driven approach for their business, and we’re so excited to start 2019 by welcoming these advisers to our growing family.”

Steward’s other offices are located in Newtown, Washington, D.C., Clearwater, Andover, Boston, Baltimore, Bethesda, Keene, Manchester, Portsmouth, Paramus, Morristown, Albany, New York City, Houston, and Richmond.
