State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management arm of State Street Corporation, has named June Wong as its new senior managing director and head of its Asia ex-Japan business replacing Ting Li.

Wong, who will assume her new role in March 2016, will be based in Hong Kong. She will report to Lochiel Crafter, head of State Street Global Advisors’ APAC business.

In her new role, Wong will be responsible for further developing and implementing SSGA’s regional business strategy and growth plans across the North Asia and South East Asia regions.

Prior to joining SSGA, Wong worked with Columbia Threadneedle, where she served as vice chairman for Asia Pacific and CEO of the Hong Kong business. Prior to this, she worked as head of institutions at AllianceBernstein and head of business development for HSBC Asset Management.

Crafter said: "June brings over two decades of experience and expertise leading institutional business development and strategy to this role.

"She will be an enormous asset to the business and is well-positioned to understand the varying and complex needs of our clients and to drive SSGA’s strategic growth ambitions across the region."
