SimplyBiz Group, a provider of compliance support to financial services professionals in the UK, has unveiled an online hub to enable advisers comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policy requirements.

GDPR, scheduled to be implemented from May 2018, aims to strengthen data protection regulations across the European Union by applying a single set of rules to all member states within the bloc. The regulation will also be applicable to all businesses in the UK.

The new hub will include training options for advisers, gap analysis tool, and client-facing material to enable them to meet the upcoming regulation.

It will also offer new internal policy documents and guidance on a host of topics including responsibilities of data protection officers and management of violations.

SimplyBiz Group marketing director Richard Ardron said: “The GDPR hub contains detailed information on the policy and how to adhere to it, both providing advisers with peace of mind and ensuring consumer protection. The launch of our hub makes up just part of the support the Group is delivering to advisers in this area.

“Compliance and policy sessions at our upcoming events will cover GDPR in depth, we’ve issued a number of communications on the subject and, as always, our compliance helpdesk are primed and ready to help advisers with any specific queries they may have.”
