SEB Investment Management hires new chief

SEB Investment Management has named Javiera Ragnartz as its new CEO and head of investment management division.

Ragnartz will take on her new responsibility in the middle of this year. As CEO, she will report to SEB Investment Management’s board.

As divisional head, she will report to SEB president and CEO Johan Torgeby.

Ragnartz joins from pension firm AMF, where she was the head of asset management.

She previously worked in management positions at SEB and led Handelsbanken’s fund management company.

In addition, she had a stint at Riksbanken.

Commenting on the new appointment, Torgeby said: “Javiera Ragnartz has broad and deep asset management competence and I am happy to greet her welcome back to SEB. She has solid industry and leadership experience, and has worked with both strategic and operational issues in large organisations.

“Her task is to strengthen SEB’s fund management offering and continue to develop sustainable investment products.”

SEB Investment Management caters to corporate, institutional as well as private clients. The firm managed SEK1.69bn ($186m) in assets at the end of December 2018.
