British fund manager Schroders has introduced a beta version of its online chatbot in Singapore, which operates through Facebook Messenger and answer clients’ fund-related queries.

Dubbed Schroders GO, the tool has the ability to self-learn and answer three-dimensional queries. It will not only respond to queries about the company but also offer latest data on similar funds and offer market information.

It will also give users access to incentivised quizzes to improve investing knowledge and market commentaries from the Schroders team.

At present, Schroders GO is available in English and also understands Singlish. The tool, launched in association with key distribution partners Citi, Income, UOB and Synergy Financial Advisers, is expected to be publicly available in early 2018.

Schroders CEO for Asia Pacific Lieven Debruyne said: “We wanted to develop a localised instant platform that investors, today in Singapore and soon regionally, are able to get answers and resources as and when they need them. This was why we invested in developing a tool that is always-on, allows social sharing and speaks our clients’ language.”
