Schroders has expanded its global fixed income team with the appointment of five new members.

The newly appointed include David Gottlieb, Vincent Messina, Whitney Tindale, Paul Grainger, and Mads Nielsen.

Grainger will serve as Schroders’ senior portfolio manager, while Nielsen will serve as the firm’s quantitative strategist.

Grainger most recently served as associate partner and fixed income portfolio manager at Wellington Management.

Nielsen joins Schroders from GLG partners, where he managed various macro and total return strategies.

Both Grainger and Nielsen will join the firm’s London team in their new capacity.

Gottlieb, Messina, and Tindale will join Schroders in the US, and will be based in New York. All the three executives were the founding partners of Third Wave Asset Management, which was set up in 2014.

In their new role at Schroders, the trio will be tasked with managing a specialised strategy which focuses on relative value opportunities, mainly in US rates markets.
