Real estate investment manager Savills Investment Management (Savills IM) has appointed Lee Tredwell as its new head of investment in Australia.

Tredwell will be responsible to grow the firm’s Australian investment platform, and will report to CIO Kiran Patel.

Tredwell has an experience of over 15 years in managing transaction and investment activities in the commercial real estate market. He previously worked for a decade at GE Capital Real estate, managing the firm’s equity and debt investments in Australia and New Zealand, as well as fund investments throughout South East Asia.

He also served in senior positions at Abacus Property Group and CBRE.

“The scope and depth of Lee’s investment experience in the commercial real estate space is invaluable to our expansion plan in the Asia-Pacific region. Lee’s appointment serves to bolster Savills IM’s presence in the Australian real estate market, where we are looking to tap investors’ increasing appetite for offshore real estate,” Patel said.

The appointment is part of the company’s plan to expand its exposure in the Australian real estate market, and comes after the launch of an office in Sydney last year.
