American advisory firm Russell Reynolds Associates has appointed Peter O’Brien as the new head for Asia Pacific region, replacing Peter Drummond-Hay who relocated to New York in March 2017.

As Asia Pacific head, O’Brien will be responsible to drive growth in markets such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

O’Brien, who has a leadership experience of 25 years, also serves as a member of Russell’s Global Board & CEO Advisory Group. He formerly headed the company’s Global Supply Chain Practice and the Global Industrial Services & Infrastructure Sector.

Over the last decade, he offered advice on a range of topics including corporate governance, succession planning, leadership search and transformation.

“Asian leaders are returning to their local markets which is having a significant impact in the global expansion of Asian companies. In response to this, we are strengthening our regional presence and advancing our scientific psychometrics framework to enable sharper, more predictive insights to help our clients build high performing teams,” O’Brien noted.
