Wealth manager Rowan Dartington has opened a new regional office in Birmingham as part of its regional expansion plans.

The firm has hired Hitesh Mistry and Paul Smith from WH Ireland to lead the new operation.

Mistry and Smith will develop new business opportunities in the region as well as advise clients on investment strategy, financial planning and tax issues.

Prior to joining WH Ireland, Mistry and Smith served as private bankers at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

Mistry, who has 20 years experience in the industry, started his career with Albert E Sharp in Birmingham, the precursor to Gerrard Investment Management.

Smith, who has 18 years’ experience, previously held roles with Gerrard Investment Management and Charles Stanley.

Rowan Dartington executive chairman Graham Coxell said: "We have always viewed Birmingham as a prospective regional hub for us and the proposed acquisition by SJP, which still requires regulatory approval, has further strengthened the rationale for us opening a new centre there.

"The Birmingham office is likely to be one of many new locations in the near future. Both Hitesh and Paul bring with them a wealth of experience and come to us with great reputations in the industry."
