RBC Wealth Management bolsters Asia team

RBC Wealth Management has strengthened its Asia private banking team with the appointments of Andrew White and Andrew Cheng.

White has been named as the director of private banking for the firm’s Singapore office.

He joins from multi-family office Sandaire. He spent 12 years at the firm, latterly as the Singapore-based CIO for Asia.

Overall, White’s financial career spans 14 years.

In the new role, he will mainly be responsible for Asia Global Families client segment and report to the executive director and team head of private banking Dom Lane.

Lane believes that White’s “experience working with multi-generational international families will help RBC Wealth Management anticipate and meet the financial planning needs of global families across the region”.

Cheng has been appointed as the executive director of private banking at RBC Wealth Management.

He will operate out of Hong Kong and report to deputy head of private banking for Greater China Vicky Lin.

Cheng most recently worked as the managing director at Indosuez.

Previously, he held the role of China market head at ANZ. He also had stints at Standard Chartered, UBS, HSBC as well as Julius Baer.

In May this year, RBC Wealth Management appointed Dave Thomas as its business head for the UK and Channel Islands operations.
