RBC Wealth Management, a unit of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), has appointed Ashif Ratanshi as its new head of wealth management – international, replacing Stuart Rutledge who will now assume a new leadership role with RBC in Toronto.

Ratanshi will take up the new role on 1 May 2017 and lead the firm’s operations in the UK, Channel Islands and Asia.

He will be based in London, and report to group head of wealth management and insurance Doug Guzman.

Ratanshi joins RBC Wealth Management from the wider RBC group, where he most recently served as SVP of personal deposits and investments, as well as personal and commercial banking.

At RBC, he formerly also served as VP of direct investing and managing director of Dominion Securities. He previously also held the role of president and CEO at Security First Network Bank.
