Quilter snaps up three financial planning firms

UK-based financial advisor Quilter Private Client Advisers has acquired three financial planning businesses in a bid to bolster its regional presence.

The three acquired businesses are Eastgate Financial Management, Holdaway Johnson and Clive C Aitkenhead Financial Consultant.

The financial details of the acquisitions were not disclosed.

The acquisitions also increase the number of firms purchased by Quilter Private Client Advisers to 11.

Quilter is planning to serve all clients of Cheltenham-based Eastgate from its Birmingham office, while clients of Blackburn-based Aitkenhead will be served by Quilter Private Client Advisers’ Chester office.

The Surrey-based Holdaway Johnson will be aligned with Quilter’s London office.

The owners of Eastgate, Aitkenhead and Holdaway Johnson will retire once the business transition to Quilter Private Client Advisers is complete.

Quilter Private Client Advisers strategy and acquisitions director Dominic Rose said: “We are pleased to be able to continue to expand our regional offices with the acquisitions of these three excellent businesses.

“Each one fits well with our business and culture and we look forward to continuing to give David, Clive and Charles’ clients the quality, face-to-face financial planning they are used to.

“Given we now have a proven track record, we are seeing increasing numbers of firms approaching us directly and we expect to complete on further acquisitions before the end of the year.”
