The Prudential Portfolio Management Group has appointed David Shairp to the newly created position of head of research.
In the new role, he will be responsible for managing and developing the research and asset allocation process.
Prior to joining PPMG, Shairp worked as managing director, global strategist and portfolio manager at JP Morgan Asset Management.
Shairp commented: "Prudential has established itself as a world class multi-asset investor with a track record of achieving solid investment performance by taking a long-term rational view to asset allocation.

PPMG chief executive Al Denholm, said: "David’s appointment will further strengthen the expertise of our senior team and help us to build on our long-established history of delivering strong investment performance through strategic and tactical asset allocation."
