Pictet Asset Management has appointed a new senior salesprofessional for its operations in Brazil and Portugal.

Tiago Forte Vaz joins Pictet to distribute global fund products to private banks, wealth managers and institutional clients.

Forte replaces Amancio Perez who has been made responsible for the commercial development of t Pictet Private Bank in Brazil.

Forte joins from Espiritu Santo Investment Advisors, the private banking arm of Espiritu Santo Bank Miami where he was a vice president responsible for establishing their advisory unit.

His time at Espiritu Santo also saw him working in Switzerland and Miami where he developed the investment fund and structured products businesses.

He has covered much of Latin America in his career but also Spain and Portugal.

Speaking about working in the Portuguese markets again Forte said: "It is a market with a positive outlook and, like Spain, it is recovering little by little."

Forte will report to Gonzalo Rengifo, director general of Pictet Asset Management in Iberia and Latin America.
