Credit Suisse has opened its new office in
Osaka, adding to offices in Tokyo and Nagoya as it looks to step up
its private banking presence in Japan.

Credit Suisse’s Osaka branch will be based in
Umeda, one of the main commercial and central business districts in
Osaka, and is aimed at serving the Swiss bank’s private client
segment in Osaka and throughout the Kansai region.

The move is the latest effort by Credit Suisse
to expand its Japanese private banking footprint.

It follows the bank’s acquisition of HSBC’s
Japan private banking business, which was completed in June
2012.
