Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI), a London-based investment firm, has expanded its footprint by opening its first office in Edinburgh, Scotland.

OMGI head of international distribution Allan MacLeod, fund managers Paul Shanta and Adam Puzitsky along with sales representatives covering Scotland, will be based at the new office.

Russ Oxley, former Ignis executive who has been appointed as head of the fixed income absolute return team, will work under a dual location arrangement based in London and Edinburgh.

OMGI CEO Julian Ide said: "We are delighted that we now have an office in Edinburgh. This is an important step for our business, one that demonstrates our commitment to our Scottish client base.

"Being based in Charlotte Square is also important as it ensures that we are at the heart of the Edinburgh financial services industry."
