Northern Trust has appointed Herman Prummel as the new country head of Netherlands, replacing Wim van Ooijen who will now lead the firm’s Switzerland operations while retaining his existing role as the firm’s German office head.

Prummel, who will be based in Amsterdam, will oversee business development, sales and client activities for the asset servicing arm of the firm. He will also work alongside the local asset management team at Northern Trust.

He most recently served as the COO for the Netherlands, Nordics and Isle of Man regions at BlackRock.

Northern Trust head of continental Europe David Wicks said: “We are delighted to appoint Herman to lead our Dutch asset servicing business. The Netherlands continue to be a key market for Northern Trust and Herman’s deep regional market experience will ensure we continue to meet the unique needs of our Dutch clients.”

Northern Trust set up an office in the Netherlands in 2006. The office provides asset servicing and asset management solutions to institutional investors and investment managers.
