Northern Trust has appointed Craig Blackbourn as head of transition management for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). 

Blackbourn will be responsible for providing the region’s institutional investors transition management solutions that incorporate risk and project management as well as global trading expertise. He will report to Northern Trust global head of transition management Ben Jenkins.  

Northern Trust said that the new appointment is part of its continued investment in its global Capital Markets division that includes transition management, brokerage, foreign exchange and securities lending services.

Northern Trust Capital Markets EMEA head Andy Clayton said: “Northern Trust is growing our global Capital Markets business and Craig’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to investing in our transition management capabilities for clients across EMEA.”

Blackbourn has an experience of over 22 years in the financial services industry, most recently as head of transition management EMEA at Nomura International.

He previously also served at Lehman Brothers, BNP Paribas Securities Services, Aberdeen Asset Management and at the custody and asset management units of Deutsche Bank.
