Northern Trust, an asset management firm based in the US, has appointed Alison Pain as the chief technology officer for EMEA.

In the new role, Pain will guide the planning, organisation, direction and control of the Enterprise Technology business across EMEA.

She will operate out of London and report to both chief information officer Tom South and EMEA president Teresa Parker.

Pain formerly was the managing director at Deutsche Bank.

She also had a 12-year stint at Goldman Sachs. She was in charge of infrastructure service and application development functions in EMEA and globally at the firm.

Besides, Pain worked at Barclays Private Bank, Land Securities Properties as well as NatWest group.
