Japan-based Nikko Asset Management (Nikko AM) has named Mark de Vries as its new chief risk management officer.
In his new role, de Vries will be responsible for the governance of risk and related opportunities including investment risk management and enterprise risk management.
He will report directly to Nikko Asset management director, executive deputy president, Junichi Sayato.
De Vries joined Nikko Asset from Dymon Asia Capital in Singapore, where he served as managing director, head of quantitative analytics and risk.
De Vries, who has 20 years of professional experience worldwide, has held roles with firms such as ABN AMRO Bank, Shinsei Bank, and Nomura International.
"Mark holds substantial experience, and will play a key role as we continue to strengthen our global footprint. We warmly welcome him to our team," Sayato said.
