Nedbank Private Wealth has expanded its London team with the appointment of Mark Lambert in the new role of senior business developer.

Based in the bank’s London office, near St Paul’s, Mark will be reporting to Rob Currie, head of private banking UK, and will focus on building relationships within the professional intermediary space.

Mark joins from UBS where he was a business development director within their wealth management business. He has over 20 years’ experience in the financial service industry, incorporating roles as a financial planner and independent financial adviser with American Express and, more recently, in the investment platform and private banking worlds.

Rob Currie, head of private banking UK, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Mark to the Nedbank Private Wealth team. He joins with a history of loyalty and success, and I’m sure he will fit well into the culture at Nedbank Private Wealth and our mentality of doing the right thing by the client at all times. The UK is a very important market for us and one where we see tremendous growth potential. I am confident that Mark will make a significant contribution to the development of our business in the region."

Mark said: "I am exceptionally pleased to be joining an award-winning bank with such a strong reputation for client service. I look forward to delivering its range of private banking and investment services to a select number of law, accountancy and independent financial adviser firms in the UK."

Nedbank Private Wealth was this year voted Best International Wealth Provider for the third year running in the Professional Adviser International Fund and Product Awards. The bank was also a finalist in the 2011 Private Asset Managers (PAM) awards in the category ‘Best Overall Wealth Solutions Provider’.

This year, the PAM Awards judging panel nominated 27 firms to contest the award categories. As a finalist, the bank is regarded as one of the top performers in its field.
