Morgan Stanley has teamed up The Zone, an athletes-focused mental wellness platform, in an effort to promote financial wellness for athletes.

Under the tie-up, Morgan Stanley’s Global Sports & Entertainment (GSE) division will offer its financial tools and resources to integrate within The Zone’s app.

This will enable the digital platform to roll out mobile-friendly, bite-sized educational and interactive content, and programming for its member-athletes and institutions.

The initiative aims to engage athletes on the connection between financial education, mental wellness and peak performance.

The content will also cover fundamentals of personal finance, tips and approaches to help conceptualise and achieve financial wellness.

Further, the app will maintain frequent interaction with the athletes to enable for close monitoring of their wellness and communication with counsellors, when required.

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management set up GSE division in 2014 to offer financial advice and services to professionals in the sports and entertainment space.

The division serves veteran and emerging talents in these industries as well as their advisors.

Last year, Morgan Stanley was designated as an official Institutional Financial Advisor participant of NFL Players Association, as part of which GSE was responsible for supervising the financial advisers offering guidance to the member of the association.
