Manulife Asset Management has appointed Michael Reed as the new CEO for its Thailand business.

Reed will be responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s growth strategy and combining the firm’s on the ground local expertise with its global capabilities to offer solutions for consumers and partners in Thailand.

He will report to Manulife Asset Management wealth and asset management COO for Asia Gianni Fiacco and Manulife Insurance Thailand president and general manager Michael Parker.

Reed, who has an experience of over two decades in the industry, most recently served as country head at FIL Asset Management (Korea).

He previously also served in senior management roles at various international financial services firms across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan.

"We are extremely pleased to have someone with the depth of multi-market experience Michael has, joining Manulife and spearheading our growth in this very important market. We are confident that his experience in the asset management industry across Asia will help us build holistic and enduring relationships with our clients," Fiacco stated.
