Man GLG, the discretionary investment management arm of Man Group, has appointed Simon Finch to the newly created role of CIO of credit.

Finch will manage Man GLG’s credit business and the credit portfolio management teams, reporting to the firm’s CEO Teun Johnston.

In the new role, he will work alongside Man GLG CIO Pierre-Henri Flamand and Man Group CIO Sandy Rattray.

Finch will also have a seat on the group executive committee and Man GLG’s management team.

Finch most recently served as the CIO at CQS, which he joined in 2004.

His 25-year career in the credit investing space also includes a stint as the head of portfolio management at Abbey National.
