Lombard International Assurance, a provider of wealth structuring solutions, is planning to open a branch office in Belgium in the second quarter of 2016, subject to regulatory approval.

This move is part of the firm’s global growth strategy with most recent development being the acquisition of Zurich Eurolife Luxembourg private banking business.

"The move demonstrates our commitment to this important market as we seek to build out our franchise across Europe as the leader in our sector."

Lombard International executive director of sales, marketing and wealth structuring Jurgen Vanhoenacker said: "The opening of a new branch in Belgium is an important step in this direction and demonstrates our intent to continue to expand our offering to partners and their clients with on the ground expertise and servicing."
