Lincoln Financial Network has appointed Bill Fortner as managing director with Lincoln Financial Advisors, leading the Pacific regional planning group.

In this capacity, Fortner will manage regional planning offices in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington State, and focus on growing market share and expanding its footprint in the region. Based in San Ramon, Fortner will report to John DiMonda, SVP, head of Lincoln Financial Advisors.

Fortner, 45, joins Lincoln Financial Advisors from MetLife, where he served as a regional sales vice president covering Southern California and Hawaii, from 2011 to 2013. Prior to joining MetLife, Fortner held various roles within The Hartford Financial Services Group in Newport Beach, from 2001 to 2010, most recently serving as director, private wealth management.

Throughout his career, he has held other senior sales positions including a financial advisor with John Hancock Financial Services and vice president, District Financial relationship manager for the California retail division of Bank of America in Santa Barbara.

DiMonda said, "With more than 20 years of experience in financial services and a breadth of expertise, Bill brings a comprehensive industry perspective that complements the value and support we provide to our advisors."
