The Law Society of Scotland has partnered with investment firm Brewin Dolphin to support Scottish solicitors and their clients in the wealth management space.

Under the agreement, Brewin Dolphin will organise CPD events and offer practice area updates to assist solicitors.

The financial planning firm will focus on the current trends in wills and estate management, trusts, charity work as well as tax. The partnership will be effective on September this year.

Commenting on the alliance, Law Society of Scotland executive director of member services and engagement Paul Mosson said: “I’m delighted to announce that, following a competitive tender process, Brewin Dolphin will become our wealth management partner. We were impressed by the firm’s thorough understanding and experience of the Scottish legal market, compelling strategic vision and extensive knowledge of key practice areas.

“Working with Brewin Dolphin will allow us to provide valuable insight and information for those within our membership who are looking after the affairs of individual clients and trustees, helping them provide much sought-after expertise and advice.”

Brewin Dolphin national head of professional services Matt Sullivan added: “Joining the Law Society of Scotland’s partnership programme is an exciting prospect and follows our appointment of recently-retired family law specialist, Anne Hall Dick, as a consultant to our matrimonial team. Since launching our professional services offering in Scotland 18 months ago, the team has grown from strength to strength.”
